Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Malibu- Video

Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Malibu

Speaker 1: Today in this 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Fusemaster fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles, part number RM765121.Now, the reason you're going to want a fuse bypass for your Malibu is because when you're flat towing a Malibu behind your motor home, it does require the pooling of two fuses in your fuse box so your vehicle's battery doesn't become depleted. Because the transmission has to be in a neutral position, it can actually run down the battery while the fuse is being pooled. This will prevent you from having to open this cover every single time, remove the fuses, and when you get back to your destination, reinstalling the fuses in order for you to drive the vehicle. With the simple flip the switch down to the tow mode, it's like the fuses we're just renewed because it disconnects the switch. By flipping it up to drive, it's like you reinstalled the fuses because they are now supplying power to the fuse box, and all your accessories will work properly. To begin our install, we're going to locate our fuse box inside the passenger compartment of our vehicle. It's on the driver's side right here underneath our headlights switch. We'll remove our cover by using a flathead screwdriver to get inside this section here and popping it loose, and then our fuse box is behind it.Now, we need to remove our two fuses that need to be removed when the vehicle is in tow mode. We have number 10, which is this one right there, the 15 amp fuse. more

Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Malibu- Video

Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Malibu

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster tail light wiring kit for towed vehicles with an LED bulb and socket, part number RM-152-LED.Now, the reason you're gonna want bulb and socket wiring for your Malibu is if you're flat towing it, this is your only option as far as lights that are internal. You can't use diodes on the Malibu because it's a variable voltage system that powers incandescent light bulbs. If you wanted not to have that, your other option is magnetic tow lights.Magnetic tow lights, they're kind of a hassle because they actually can scratch the surface of your paint, and you have to find a place to store them when you're not using them. Bulb and sockets, especially these being LED, you don't have to worry about replacing the bulb. They should last the lifetime of the vehicle for you. So it's one less thing you have to worry about. It's a separate bulb from what your vehicle uses from the factory. more

Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Malibu

Speaker 1: Today on this 2018 Chevrolet Malibu we'll be having a look at and showing how to install the Roadmaster FuseMaster fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles, part number RM76512. Here's what our fuse bypass looks like installed. What's great about this is this solves the problem of us having to go underneath the dash to remove two fuses when every time we want to flat tow our vehicle. We don't have to worry about misplacing the fuses anymore because if we didn't have those fuses we wouldn't be able to start the car when we want to go some place once we've arrived at our destination. It's a simple process. You just move the switch to the tow position every time you want to tow. When you get where you're going, you want to go out for a drive, just flip it back to drive and you're set. more

Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Malibu

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Malibu we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Tail Light wiring kit with bulbs, part number RM-155. Here's what our bulb and socket kit looks like installed. What's great about this kit is that this is going to safely transform our vehicle into basically a trailer, so when we're towing it behind our motor home we have all the lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally operate. Now, what I really like about this kit is that it doesn't splice into your factory wiring at all. On this vehicle, we can't us a traditional diode kit to use the vehicle's factory tail light bulbs, because they are single filament. Because of single filament, we have to add and additional bulb, and this is essentially the only kit on the market that will work for this vehicle. Now, this kit's going to give us our tail lights, our turn signals and our brake lights, so we have all the necessary functions that we need. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Malibu- Video

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Malibu

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Malibu we'll be installing the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-154. To start our install we're going to take the longer of the two wires that come with the kit. We're going to go ahead and cut one of the ends off. Now, we'll go ahead and take the end that still has the 4-flat connector on it. We'll route it here through the grill where we'll zip tie it off so it stays secure while we route the rest of our wire. It's a good idea to loop or to bunch a little bit of excess wire up here at the front in case you need to ever change the front pigtail out. We're going to go ahead and add about two feet of wire just by bunching it, going back and forth, then we'll zip tie it off up here. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Today on our 2010 Chevy Malibu we'll be installing the Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit for tow vehicles, part number RM-154. To begin our install, we'll first need to locate the manufacturer's wiring that runs to both taillight assemblies. To do this we'll remove the spare tire cover and then the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, we'll simply pull up on the bottom of the threshold releasing the four fasteners underneath.   Next, to gain access behind the taillight assemblies on both sides there will be two push pin fasteners and two threaded cargo hook fasteners. Once we remove these fasteners, we can pull back on the trunk carpeting which will expose the wiring behind it and the back of the taillight assemblies. more

Base Plate Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Malibu

Today in this 2012 Chevy Malibu, well be using a 6-Pole Round Pin Connector, part number PK11609 and Diode Kit, part number 38955. Were going to install our 6-Pole Connector here in this space, so first Ill need to remove the lower panels so I can start routing my wire. When routing our wire, we're going to be careful to stay away from pinch points such as the suspension or steering, or extensive heat such as exhaust. Im going to use a piece of air line or pull wire to help me thread it through the frame here of the vehicle. We got our wire run to the back of the vehicle, now we need to get up into the trunk area so that we can attach it to the manufacturers wiring. To do that, were going to need to pull apart some of the rear interior. more
